Easy Chicken and Waffle Sliders - Lip Smackin' Good

If you’re looking for a quick and easy snack, or something to bring to a party, try these chicken and waffle sliders. They’re a delicious mix of sweet and savory, and a great tailgate appetizer for the football season. Even better, they’re a meal that even the pickiest of kids always love! While they’re usually served with maple syrup, our bacon syrup goes amazingly with these, adding a nice twist to what people might be expecting.

If you’re feeling super lazy and don’t want to expend all the time and effort it takes to make waffles from scratch or to fry the chicken bites, you can always take the easy way: buy some frozen chicken bites—or even pre-bought ones from Chic-Fil-A or your favourite fast food place—and the frozen mini waffles of your choice.

Either keep the pre-bought chicken bites warm by putting them in a covered dish in the oven on a low heat, or microwave them before you’re ready to serve. If you bought frozen ones, follow the instructions.

  • 12 fried chicken bites
  • 24 mini waffles (or 6 full-size waffles cut into quarters)
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Small disposable ramekins or mini Dixie cups
  • Maple syrup
  • Lip Smackin’ Good Bacon Syrup

1: Toast the mini waffles.

2: Chop green onion, which adds a little flavor.

3: Fill half of the disposable ramekins with our bacon syrup, and half with maple syrup.

4: Prepare the sliders by sticking one chicken bite between two mini waffles, and hold them together with toothpicks through the centre.

You can keep them warm by microwaving them before you leave, and then putting them in a dish wrapped in tinfoil. When you’re ready to serve, make sure you don’t forget to included the ramekins of our bacon syrup—it really kicks this dish up a notch!

Enjoy y'all!
