Spiced Apple Butter and Pecan Popcorn - Lip Smackin' Good

Autumn is in full swing! It’s the perfect season for staying home and cosying up in your favourite sweatshirt with a homemade snack. That’s why I wrote up the perfect Fall recipe, Spiced Apple Butter Popcorn. It has a fraction of the sugar that caramel corn has, so you can enjoy it guilt free.


  • 2-3 tbsp coconut oil

  • ½ cup popcorn kernels

  • 3 tbsp Lip Smackin’ Good apple butter

  • 1/3 cup crushed pecans

  • Sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper to taste


  1. Melt coconut oil in a pot over high heat. Once it’s all melted, pour the popcorn kernels into the pot and shake until they’re evenly spread over the bottom of the pot.

  2. Cover the pot with a lid and wait until you hear the popcorn start popping. Shake the pot gently every few seconds.

  3. When the popping slows down to about 2 seconds between pops, take the pot off the heat.

  4. Melt 3 tbsp of Lip Smackin’ Good apple butter in the microwave.

  5. Pour the popcorn into a bowl, add pecans and drizzle the apple butter in increments, shaking the bowl in between each addition.

  6. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper for a sweet and spicy twist on popcorn.
